Hi, my name is Liana Lehman. Thanks for visiting my personal photo news blog that we fondly refer to as 'liana's bananas' thanks to my childhood nickname and tendency to post about crazy, fun happenings.

I'm extremely blessed to be doing what God has called me to do - helping others achieve the impossible and experience the beauty about them always!

I hope to share my adventures through this blog -- including my more recent 101 in 1001 challenge!

This is a place for me to post all the latest happenings in my world - whether it be recent images from destination weddings and lifestyle portrait shoots, something silly that's going on, and even some personal stuff.

If you're an entrepreneur or professional photographer, the BananasEDU blog is full of biz topics. Check out the links above and below for access to all our sites.

It puts a smile on my face to hear your thoughts so comment away and leave your links!

All Backwards (Speaking in SC)

...NO... I did NOT just make a crack at Southerners... more of a crack at myself because I seemed to have done things a bit backwards where speaking at industry events is concerned!

This year alone, I've been EXTREMELY blessed/honored to speak at THE biggest and best industry events for professional photographers.... something that should take YEARS and years of speaking at the state level and at smaller events before even being considered for these bigger things. ImagingUSA in January, WPPI in March, Pictage Partner Conference in Chicago, then again in Los Angeles, and Chicks that Click in the Bahamas this summer.

I know it is nothing I've done on my own but me simply doing what I've been called to do... sharing a story and lessons that took me a long time to learn.... some things that would be much easier left unsaid, but I know I must. I've gone from having panic attacks back in 04 and 05 to just minor nerves this year... and some major technology issues about every time I speak (and even a fire drill!)... it's certainly been a learning experience! What's more it takes just about every ounce of energy from me every time one of these events takes place... I was not built for this I tell you! It's like someone sucks all my brains and energy out every time. But it's worth it.

Well, this weekend I had the pleasure to experience my first PPA state convention and what better place than South Carolina? I don't think I could have had a warmer welcome... they're just so sweet! It was nice because we had a full 1/2 day to go through a bunch of stuff (yeah, I still ran over...opps!) and got to do an quick demo in class even.

Thank you to Becki and Clark Berry for being my models!

Ricki Ford caught this one of us during the demo - thanks Ricki :)

Extra thanks to Mickey Garrison, Jeanne Richardson, and the rest of the team for putting on a great event and having me out there!

Oh yes - and I managed to get the resources (some audio & those worksheets) posted over on the BananasEDU blog if you were looking for them from an earlier event or this one ;)

Charlie Thiel commented: Liana, I didn't really have the time to come to the PPSC convention, but when I heard you were speaking (and after participating in Pictage's Ask and Learn with you, I made the time to drive up from Charleston. I am working on the BHAG we discussed in your session - speaking at PartnerCon next year. I am now accountable to my wife, my cousin, and I will make myself accountable to my PUG at the next meeting. I am studying everything I can get my hands regarding my potential topic. I will email Lisa Allen today. The other good news (you must be good luck) is my website is now up and running! Feel free to check it out! www.charliethielphotography.com Thanks for all of your inspiration and motivation. You rock! October 12, 2007 at 8:21 AM
