The polls were quiet today. I expected a wait and found none at all. I got the vibe that the poll workers were really bored.
This Sunday after church we stopped by Jason's Deli next to the "disco Kroger" for lunch and low and behold... there was Saxby Chambliss having lunch with his wife. Just going through the salad bar like the rest of us do.
I have to admit I wrote him a letter earlier this year and told him it would be difficult for me to vote for him if he voted for the bail-out plan (he did, and I'm still not keen on it!). I also admit that I went out and did what we told him on Sunday we'd be doing... voting for him.
They just announced his win and I'm thankful that a Republican is taking one of the final Senate seats... ensuring that there WILL be SOME form of checks and balances in this government!
Chambliss’ double-digit victory dashed Democrats’ dreams of securing a filibuster-proof, 60-vote “super majority” in the Senate
