Right before we left for our own wedding, I had the pleasure of hanging out in midtown to photograph Kelly's bridal portraits.

I'm looking forward to posting a lot of the images from March and our trip in April as well as some fun news... for now enjoy more of Kelly's images!

Sneak Peak: Kelly's Bridals

I'm blogging out of order. I have an engagement session and a wedding we shot yesterday that I should be blogging first, but since I have to get up at 5AM for week #2 of excruciating "Step it Up" Boot Camp.... here's a sneak peak instead.

This afternoon I photographed Kelly's Bridal Session - and this evening we edited this and the wedding from yesterday. We leave VERY VERY soon for our own wedding so things have to get turned around FAST. Workin' ROUND the clock these days!

Kimberly's Bridal Shower Details and THE Cake!

A few Saturdays ago, we (the other bridesmaids and I) hosted Kimberly's bridal shower over here and it turned out to be a FAB-u-lous event if I may say so!

It's no wonder Kimberly and I are such good friends... as she puts it recently on her oh-so-adorable "Life is Peachy" blog: We are two gals cut from the same cloth, just different dye lots!

Plus, we both have this minor-obsession with anything Real Simple or Martha-esque and would prefer DIY nights at home to many other girls-night alternatives. Haha.

Well, these traits certainly manifested themselves for her shower... including The Cake! We tried the DIY fondant then Mike and I put together some homemade marshmallow fondant a few nights before the shower. After working with both pre-made and home-made fondant, I think I'll stick with the pre-made stuff from here on out. The stuff we made must not have been quite right because we had some cracking and sticking problems. All in all, I was able to use the decorations to cover up the sad mess of a fondant cake that I'd put together... and it turned out "not bad" for a home-made cake.





Here's a look at the "innards" ... it turned out SOOO tasty with adding pudding to the mix and using the regular store-bought frosting for the middle layers.


More sweets, and proof of why Jason is so SWEET on Kimberly: She's not afraid to voice her opinon. (Another reason why we must be friends!) haha


For the party-favors we wanted to do something a little more nutritious to counteract all the sweets, so we went with her "Life is Peachy" theme...


...and the PEACH didn't stop there...what's more appropriate that bellinis to go along with the mimosas?


Last but not least, we threw together a few quick flower arrangements using these elegant candle holders and Publix 3-for-10 flower bunches. Yep, a whole $10 spent on these pretty buds!




In the end, it was a great DIY trial-run for the BIGGER event - the actual wedding flowers and cake! We are however getting the pre-made fondant and she has access to a wholesale florist so this should be fun!

Impromptu Bridal Session with Kimberly

Yesterday after Kimberly's bridal shower she tried on her wedding dress for a small group of us and we went out in my side-yard for a few quick pictures.

Isn't she stunning??



It's so neat to have one of your best friends as the bride!! I'm really excited for their wedding next month and all the fun events and DIY stuff we're doing for it!

There are soooo many good shots I'll have to post some more up soon too.

Day After Shoot in Jamaica

We've got about a month before travels start up again for the Business Boot Camps we're doing in Arizona and Texas then a wedding in New Orleans... so between now and then lots of behind-the-scenes work is being done on our websites and processes.

I'm just now realizing how incredibly outdated our portfolio site is and we're putting up new galleries online soon so here are a few of my favorites that made the cut. These are from Carmen and Bryan's Day After shoot in Ocho Rios Jamaica. We actually did TWO day after sessions after their wedding because they had different outfits and wanted to catch the great light one morning (it was ~ 6am!!)

Laurel's Bridal Shower in Ohio

My little sister Laurel is getting married next month! In true-Laurel fashion, we brought out everything PINK and BLACK and Karen (matron of honor) and my sis Lissa hosted an awesome Bridal shower for her two Sundays ago while I was visiting in Ohio.

We had lots of yummy treats to eat and played "bridal mad libs" which had us all tearing up from laughing too hard while Karen and Lissa read them to the rather large group before Laurel endured about an hour of gift-opening in front of all of us!

Here are some details and pics from the festivities.

A fun gift-bow and Laurel's flower that went perfect with her dress we picked for her at Anne Taylor earlier in the weekend.


My mom ordered these super cool flower arrangements that they did up in martini glasses


While the kids stayed upstairs and played, we had the grown-up fun downstairs :)


There were a BUNCH of people there I hadn't seen in ages... including my godmother, Carol (green), who is here with my mom (pink). She was also my mom's maid-of-honor in her own wedding.

Then it was on to the gift-giving. I was sure to tie LOTS of ribbons onto my gifts to her so she'd be sure to break them (supposedly it's bridal-superstition that every time the bride breaks a bow/tie at the shower then it indicates how many kids the couple will have in the future). My sister and Jim should have 5 or 6 I think was the final count - including twins!! LOL.




Grandma Lehman was brought by just in time for the gift-opening





We saved my more-personal and somewhat-embarrassing-to-open-in-front-of-grandma gifts for last for a good laugh... including something extra special I got her at the Victoria's Secret in NYC that you can only get at that location :)



I'll be heading up to Ohio again next month to do my MOH and sister duties as I'm actually IN the wedding so I won't be taking (as many) pics of course :)

January 2006.

That's the last time I did a photo shoot like this. Fashion. Stylists. ALL DAY LONG. Models. More Styling. Borrowed wardrobe from high-end designers. Lots of planning and phone calls to get the right parties involved.

We're in the middle of a Photo Biz Boot Camp so I hardly have time to breath this week but here's a sneak peak of what's to come from our shoot on Monday...
